Is Excel good enough to manage a taxonomy?

Excel can only be used when the taxonomy is small and simple. As the number of nodes or topics grows and there are relationships between them then it will become too difficult to manage in Excel. Further Excel will not help you classify the content, govern the model or help with the search and navigation of the content. When people send us taxonomies in Excel format, they have often become broken.
