Go To Market Solutions with Partners
Just this week, I had the opportunity to visit one of our partners, Marklogic. I am once again reminded how valuable partners are. Having go to market solutions ready is what I see a win-win-win for all parties – a win for the customer saving them a lot of money in consulting and having a solution to go live right away, a win for the partner by providing them a strategic competitive edge and to expand in markets they wouldn’t normally be in, and a win for Smartlogic – by being able to sell more licensing revenue that will we eventually feed back to improve our product. We are fortunate to have a good partner ecosystem, including Google, Microsoft, SAP, OpenText, Apache/ Solr, etc. who understand Smartlogic technology well.
Why Content is No Longer King
Content was recently dethroned as King. Taking its place is Content Intelligence. Don’t get me wrong. Content is still important but without context (that is the intelligence around it), it is pretty much meaningless.
A recent report (April 2011) by Forrester “Enterprise Search: 6 Key Trends to Watch” http://www.forrester.com/rb/Research/enterprise_search_six_key_trends_to_watch/q/id/58696/t/2 states that first-generation enterprise search was not easy to use and produced unsatisfactory results from a usability and relevance standpoint. However, even today, we see that search is still only satisfactory. To bump it up a couple of notches, we must start adding content intelligence to it. It comes as no shock to us at Smartlogic that organizations are also demanding it.
