Smartlogic CEO & Founder Jeremy Bentley will present a keynote speech on Semantic Technology at the Taxonomy Boot Camp on Monday Oct 31, 12:00 - 1:15 pm.
"Content Intelligence solutions s are coming of age, and the semantic technologies that Content Intelligence is based on are being adopted and put to work. But what type of problems are they good at solving?" Using case studies from government and enterprise deployments, Jeremy Bentley shares practical lessons learned on how Content Intelligence is being applied to information that is both behind the corporate firewall as well as on the web. He discusses how the benefits of adding Content Intelligence to an organization’s existing investment in search and content management are impressive, illustrates the impact of semantic technology on an organization’s information architecture, and looks at the difference between semantic projects for the enterprise and the goal of Web 3.0 (aka the semantic web), the likely path of convergence, as well as the deliverables and value that each step should provide.
Bentley concludes with some do’s and don’ts of semantic projects as well as the role of the information professional in such a project. More information is available online here.
The SharePoint Symposium convenes on November 2 - 3, 2011, again in Washington, DC at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. See www.sharepointsymposium.com for details.
Smartlogic Senior Vice President EMEA Richard Pinder will be part of a panel discussing SharePoint solutions. 'Spotlight on Solutions' will take place on Nov 3 at 11:45am - 12:45pm with moderator Hugh McKellar, Editor-in-Chief KMWorld, KMWorld Magazine chairing the discussion between Corey Milliman, Senior SharePoint Solutions Architect for Metalogix and four more top SharePoint solution providers as they and their customers share successful deployments built on what is arguably the industry’s most versatile platform.
Jeremy Bentley has also been invited to speak at the Enterprise Search Summit [http://www.enterprisesearchsummit.com/Fall2011/] running from November 1 - 3rd at the Washington, DC Washington Marriott Wardman Park.
His talk is entitled 'Scaling and Managing Search for the Large Enterprise — Market Insights Panel' and is scheduled for Nov 3, 11:45am - 12:30pm.
Bentley introduces the talk as covering "how users expect to have a single search process across multiple and varied data sources, and enterprises increase the number and capacity of silos, search must scale to hundreds of millions or even billions of text items, all searchable in near-real-time. Robust indexing among multiple servers requires scalable architecture, which may be found in a traditional software application, open source software or hardware/software appliance."
He continues: "This panel offers experience and practical advice for search administrators confronting scale issues, and how to augment existing search software for better performance in large enterprise settings".
Smartlogic's Semaphore is a content intelligence platform which complements an organization’s investments in Enterprise Search, Business Intelligence and Content Management to provide effective, rapid and accurate control of, and access to, unstructured content with a speed, accuracy and intelligence not achievable today through existing systems that are strained from soaring information volumes. Semaphore endows these systems with capabilities, such as taxonomy & ontology management, automatic classification and contextual navigation, so that organizations can better find, organize, process, monetize, control and govern unstructured content.
Enterprise Search Summit, SharePoint Symposium & Taxonomy Boot Camp will also offer plenary sessions plus networking, social events and the chance to meet some of key enterprise search solutions providers.
Smartlogic will be publishing a review of all these conferences and more in the coming weeks.
