Semaphore for Microsoft SharePoint
Semaphore for SharePoint is a comprehensive integrated solution for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 or SharePoint 2010 adding Information Management functionality and the findability advantage. Semaphore’s tightly integrated automatic classification and taxonomy governance capabilities extend SharePoint – to help enterprises manage and users find, discover and reuse – their content.
Semaphore for the Google Search Appliance
Semaphore has been integrated with a number of enterprise search applications, including the Google Search Appliance (GSA), Solr, and Microsoft FAST, to add semantic processing capabilities to these search engines to provide: Accurate and consistently applied metadata and classification. An ontology-driven solution that improves findability. A better search-navigation experience, whatever the search engine.
Semaphore for Apache Solr - Enhancing Solr's Native Search Functions
Semaphore has been integrated with a number of enterprise search applications, including the Google Search Appliance (GSA), Apache Solr, and Microsoft FAST and others, to add semantic processing capabilities to these search engines to provide: Accurate and consistently applied metadata and classification An ontology-driven solution that improves findability. A better search-navigation experience, whatever the search engine.
Semaphore for Microsoft FAST ESP - Better Search Navigation & Content Classification
Semaphore has been integrated with a number of enterprise search applications, including the Google Search Appliance (GSA), Solr, and Microsoft FAST and others, to add semantic processing capabilities to these search engines to provide: Accurate and consistently applied metadata and classification. An ontology-driven solution that improves findability. A better search-navigation experience, whatever the search engine.
Semaphore for any application
Semaphore is an enterprise semantic platform with a published set of APIs; therefore, integrating to it is a simple case of connecting into published XML APIs. Smartlogic offers end-to-end solutions for Microsoft SharePoint, Google Search Appliance, Apache/ Solr and many more applications. Any system with sufficient API / Interface access to third party software can be Semaphore-enabled. Our partners have taken advantage of Semaphore published APIs to connect to various other applications such as:
Semaphore for OpenText (RedDot) CMS
Semaphore has been integrated with a number of content management systems including Open Text Web Site Management Server (formerly RedDot CMS) and Microsoft SharePoint (2007 and 2010) to add semantic processing capabilities to these content management systems to provide: Improved authoring. Better management, repurposing, control and disposition of content. A better search-navigation experience within these systems.
Integration of Semaphore with FAST ESP
This diagram shows the Semaphore core modules and the integration points with FAST ESP. Semaphore is integrated with Microsoft FAST ESP, with the Semaphore search components working alongside FAST‘s facet navigation. From the corpus of documents, the FAST crawler picks up a document and moves it to the indexing pipeline. The FAST indexer passes the document to the Semaphore Classification Server, which “simply” reads the document and returns tags based on the rules loaded in it. It then returns the document that has been enriched with metadata tags (e.g. subject, location, person, etc.) to the FAST indexing pipeline. The document can now be retrieved via full text, enriched Semaphore metadata, or a combination of both. When a user submits a query, it is passed to Semaphore‘s Search Application Framework. The Search Application Framework is a collection of web services and tag libraries that expose core functionality like search results, relevance/date ranking, etc. with the advanced Semaphore capability of taxonomy or entity-based facet navigators, topic maps and filters and more, to provide a great search experience out of the box. The framework also allows the tweaking and customization needed to meet application specification requirements with minimal development effort.
